Mont Habitant

Mont Habitant is located at Saint-Sauveur, Quebec. It is considered an innovative ski destination for more than 40 years. It is the first ski resort in Quebec that offered weekend ski classes for kids. Its snowmaking system, which covers 100 percent of their slopes provide excellent trail conditions day or night, for all types of snowboarders, skiers, and bladers. Mont Habitant is a perfect ski area for all ages, of any gender because it has perfectly groomed trails that challenge everyone. Skiing season in the resort is from late December to the latter part of March.

Mickey Stein, together with his partners, Stanley and Stephen Vineberg, surveyed and studied the mountain in front of his farmhouse in 1957. He knew that the mountain will be a perfect ski area when developed. He asked Sel Hannah to design the mountain into a fabulous ski resort. It was in the winter season of 1958-1959 when Mont Habitant opened to the public for winter sport activities. Later on, a ski school headed by Joan Stein officially opened.

The resort has 55 acres (22.3hectares) of skiable terrain. The highest accessible point in the resort is 183 meters or 600.4 feet up. Snowfall In the area averages at 330 centimeters (130 inches) every year. There are a total 10 runs. Mont Habitant features slopes and trails that are perfect for skiers and snowboarders of different skill levels. Beginner, intermediate and expert trails are all available to satisfy every enthusiast’s craving for adventure. All ten trails are well-maintained, and are served by three fast lifts. The high-speed lifts ensure everyone will reach their destination quickly, without much waiting on the lift line.

The resort is a favorite winter destination for families and most of them are from nearby communities. The resort is great for the whole family and accepts reservations for large groups. They offer different services like equipment rental, equipment repair, washrooms, and more. The site has many food establishments and nearby bars and restaurants for those who want to eat or get a refreshment. Eight of their trails are open for night skiing until 10:30 pm. They charge decently and offer weekly specials, group packages, and discounts.

Mont Habitant’s Ski School offers many courses for all ages. They have snowboard and ski lessons for beginners, intermediate, or for anyone who wants to enhance and develop his skills further more. They also have programs for children and women. Their lessons are available in a private or semi-private course. Well trained instructors and friendly staffs are around to train, to guide, and to ensure everyone is safe. For more than 28 years of excellent teaching, the school has trained over 250,000 snowboarders and skiers.
