Mount Pakenham Snow Center

Every modern-day skier/rider will definitely find what he’s looking for in Mount Pakenham Snow Center. Located at the south of Pakenham Village in Ontario, this ski resort is only a few-minute drive from Ottawa, Kingston, or Montreal in Quebec. It has high-powered lifts that will safely take you to your destination without much waiting. Its snow making ability and thorough grooming of trails and slopes ensures snow safety all the time. Plenty of winter sports activities, such as night skiing, alpine and cross-country skiing, skating, snowshoeing, and snowboarding, are waiting for groups of friends and families. Skiing season in the resort is from early December to late March, although it is closed during December 25, Christmas.

Eastern Ontario and the area surrounding Mount Pakenham has long been popular destination for skiers in Canada because snowfall tends to fall consistently all through the winter season. The area is particularly a favorite among cross-country enthusiasts. The resort has been in operation since the 1990s and is now considered the top family ski area in Eastern Ontario.

The resort has a total 22 hectares (55 acres) of skiable terrain. The highest accessible point in the resort is 85 meters or 279 feet up. Annual snowfall averages at 152 centimeters (60 inches) with 100 percent capability for making artificial snow cover. There are a total 10 skiing trails, 40 percent of which are easy to use and are ideally made for beginners. About 35 percent of the terrain is for intermediate while the remaining 25 percent – the area which is most difficult to use - is designed for advanced and experts.

Most of the resort's guests are traveling with other family members. The lodge makes every snowboard and ski experience comfortable and always at its best. It houses the lounge, cafeteria, meeting rooms, washrooms, and offices. You’ll find the Locker Building next to the Lodge. In this facility, you can rent a family-size locker for just $99. The locker can be used for the entire winter season. The best advantage of renting a locker is that you will not need to carry your equipments to the hill and vice versa. The rental shop is also located near the Lodge. Safety gears, and Alpine sport equipments are available here. They have service technicians who also provide tune up and waxing services. Whenever you left something at home, whether be it your snowboard leash, goggles, hand warmers, mitts, helmet, or anything else, their Snow Boutique has it all for you.

The resort offers programs for all ability levels assisted by professional instructors and rangers. They have special classes for kids and women. Weekend, weekdays, and night programs are also available for beginners, intermediate, and advanced skiers and snowboarders. Nearby accommodations, such as campgrounds, hotels, motels, country cabin, and B&B, are offered by their sister company, Wilderness Tours. The Lodges & Resorts, Ranch Bed & Breakfast, and Renfrew Valley Inn are just some of the six options they have.
