Ski Martock

It is a resort located near Windsor in the province of Nova Scotia. Ski Martock provides terrain for all types of skiers and snowboarders. Most of their perfectly groomed trails are for beginners to high intermediate enthusiasts. Their terrain park and half pipe both offer skiers many challenges for a more adventurous winter fun. The place is perfect for all ages. Families and large groups are accepted. The resort is open for winter activities from December to March.

Snowboarding and skiing grew steadily at Martock since it began in 1980. The resort was actually Atlantic Canada’s first ski destination to set up a half pipe. From then on, more improvements were made and the Terrain Park was fully established. Two award-winning Olympians, Sarah Conrad and Trevor Andrew, were produced by Ski Martock.

The resort has 24 hectares (59.3 acres) of skiable terrain. The highest accessible point in the resort is 183 meters or 600.4 feet up. Annual snowfall averages at 254 centimeters (100 inches). There are a total 7 runs with 20 percent of the slopes suitable for beginners and a whopping 70 percent of the terrain appropriate for intermediates. Unlike most resorts that have limited tracks for night skiing, the half pipe, the Terrain Park, and the rest of Martock’s trails are lit for a total evening fun. Nordic skiing is allowed through its 5km trail of coniferous forest. The resort’s 100 percent snowmaking system offers consistent snow conditions. Their skiing surface is well-maintained and machine groomed.

Many of the resort's visitors are travelers bringing their families. The establishment’s snow school offers various programs for different skill abilities. Although child care service is not available, private and group lessons for kids and adults are offered. They also have weekly programs and special courses for women. Their staffs and instructors are willing to help and assist visitors at all times. They provide quality training on Alpine skiing, snowboarding, and Nordic skiing. Other services offered are equipment rentals and equipment repairs. Their shop is complete with all the necessary tools used by the beginner, advanced, and expert skiers. Their technicians will help prepare your snowboard for a perfect winter sport activity. Some brand-new equipment shops available are BeaverTails and CLEVE’s Ski Shop. If the group gets hungry, an onsite restaurant is serving snacks, light meals, and beverages. Some food for kids is also available. The ski patrol is always attentive and alert. They see to it that none gets hurt. They give special attention to kids and beginners to prevent serious injuries. Washrooms and lounge are available. Some nearby lodgings you can choose to spend the night are the Cottage Country, Old Orchard Inn, and Phoenix Hollow B&B.

The place has everything an enthusiast could ask for – perfect drop, well-groomed trails, equipments, friendly staffs, nearby accommodations, and so much more.
